Your dream child at 25th week

From 6 months, try singing the same songs or stotra to your baby on a regular basis. Singing combines a right (music) with a left (words) brain activity and will encourage the connection between the two halves of your baby’s brain to grow. She is generally seems to react to her mother’s voice best.

Development

  • The lungs, which were originally spongy-solid, are now filling with air sacs, each wrapped in a network of blood vessels.
  • The lungs aren't the only system that's gearing up for air intake. Your baby's nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, are starting to open this week. This actually allows your little one to begin taking practice breaths. (Of course since there's no air in there, your baby is really only "breathing" amniotic fluid, but it's the practice that counts, right?)
  • Bones are becoming solid, hands are now fully developed.
  • The brain is growing rapidly, the brain cells are starting to mature.
  • The sexual organs are fully developed.
  • The structures of the spine begin to form All 33 rings, 150 joints and 1000 ligaments.

Appearance

This week, your baby probably weighs between 566 grams and 1 kg, and is about 34-37 cm long. Your baby is looking more like a proper baby, although her head is still relatively large in comparison to the rest of her body – even a newborn baby’s head takes up one quarter of his length and is wider than her shoulders. Her arms and legs are still quite thin, as the fat stores at this stage of her development make up just 1 per cent of his total body weight. At this stage your little one is able to move vigorously and to stretch her arms and legs in a more deliberate way. She is reaching out and touching whatever she encounters around her, like the umbilical cord, grabbing his feet, and even sucking her thumb or fingers.

Q – How to take care of breast during pregnancy?

week25
  • Pregnancy is one of the most cherished moments of a woman's life. We, as mammals are blessed with mammary glands or breasts to feed our offspring after they come into this world. So, during pregnancy our body undergoes a lot of physical and hormonal changes. The fat and milk glands start developing, which increases the size of the breast. Proper breast care during pregnancy should be a mother's top priority. This will not make her face any problems in breast-feeding after childbirth. However, practicing a few breast care tips during pregnancy, will reduce chances of improper breast size or risk of not being able to feed the baby after its birth and even, breast cancer.
Moisturise: Use your stretch mark cream on your breasts too. Massage yourself gently, making circular movements: this will encourage the product to penetrate the skin and will activate circulation. Avoid stimulating the nipples as this is linked to contractions!
  • Avoid wearing under-wired bras, as they might hamper the functioning of the milk glands. Similarly, wearing a very tight bra, may press down the nipple and block the milk ducts.
  • Some people have inverted nipples. These people can gently pull out the nipples, so that the nipples are in a correct position by the time the child is born. This is one important breast care tip that has to be followed during pregnancy.
  • Overtime, as there is a regular increase in breast size, it tends to change colour and nipple too tend to darken. Sometimes the nipple might become too rough and might develop cracks. Lightly massage your nipples with coconut oil to bring down this problem. If it persists visit a doctor. Else, you will not be able to feed your baby later.
