Ritu – fertile period
Ksetra – uterus and reproductive organs
Ambu – nourishment
Beej - sperm and ovum
Ayurveda does exactly the same—it helps you be bestowed with a healthy child—mentally,
physically and spiritually. Therefore, the plan starts three months prior to the
day of union of the husband and wife. This pre-planning step involves cleansing,
strengthening and preparing of their bodies, minds and souls using herbs, Panchakarma
therapies and lifestyle practices so that they become capable of nurturing the seed
in the near future.
-
Ritu (Cycle) Shuddhi:
Preparing a proper environment for conception. Ritu means a proper body clock of
the individual. Here the Body clock is primarily related with the reproductive system
of the body. Today many causes of infertility in males & females are related
with the disorders in Ritu (ex. Menstrual Cycle disorders, PCOD, Hypothyroidism,
oligospermia in males etc.) The inharmony of Biocycle in young couples needs proper
treatment & a gross change in life style. Many simple disorders can jointly
lead to major problems. So to get a healthy baby we need to regularize them.
-
Kshetra Shuddhi:
Kshetra indicates the body & home where the foetus is going to dwell & develop
during the Nine months of pregnancy. The babies physical & mental abilities
should be nurtured properly, so the body & soul of the mother needs to be wholesome.
The purification process of the body especially Garbhashay (Uterus, Ovaries, Vagina)
& the soul is thus necessary. As fertile soil leads in offspring of healthy
plant viz. a healthy offspring needs a fertile soil to get implanted.
-
Ambu (Nutritional Mechanism) Shuddhi:
The Nutritional Chain for the baby plays a vital Role in fulfilling its basic needs
in the Womb. If metabolic disorders persist in the Mother, the unborn may not develop
to the full extent. It is a need to purify the nutritional mechanism so as to fulfill
the needs of baby during these nine months of pregnancy. It helps to avoid conditions
like Anemia before or during pregnancy, Inadequate liquor, Low birth weight due
to insufficient nutrition etc.
-
Bija Shuddhi:
The baby represents the characters of his Mother & Father. His Physical &
Mental Development is the Part & Parcel of them. The Genetic typeset decide
the physical constitution of the Baby. Knowing this, the Vedas have strongly recommended
the Purification of sperms (Paternal representative) & Ovum (Maternal representative)
who are carrying the physical qualities for the newborn. It helps to prevent &
nullify the congenital & hereditary problems, which may develop in the new born.
Thus Garbhasanskar is helpful in prevention of hereditary diseases or congenital
anomalies.
'Beeja is the reflection of child’
This sanskaar is performed from preconception to the time of conception. The Garbhadhan
sanskaar is done to overcome any defect in the ovum and foetus to purify the womb.
According to Vedic texts, 75% of defects in a child manifest in the period from
conception to first month of pregnancy. These defects can be well observed in the
first seven to 8 months of pregnancy only. The inappropriate beeja is the cause
of 90% of abortions or miscarriages.
Days of conception:
It is never advisable to have sexual intercourse the first four days of menstruation.
For those who desire a son, intercourse on the 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th and 16th night
from commencement of menstruation is recommended.
- Ayurveda believes that sex is a natural biological drive and to deprive oneself
out of it may throw him/her out of balance. We are all aware that food and water
are the basic requirement to exist in this world, in the same manner everyone needs
sex.
- Sexual intercourse involves all the five senses sight, sound, smell, taste and touch
and it is believed to be an elaborate process of mutual stimulation gifted to mankind
by Nature. It views lovemaking as a union of body, mind and soul which is a more
fulfilling experience and it also acts as an emotional bond between husband and
wife.
- According to Ayurveda, intercourse is the divine process and enjoying it in a relaxed
manner leads to a healthy offspring. Pure body and a calm mind is a must for an
effective intercourse. Parents’ mental state during the intercourse plays a great
role in the overall health of the offspring and ayurveda advises one to undergo
a purification therapy that flushes out the doshic imbalance, thereby resulting
in a better sex life.
- Ayurveda, an age old tradition of Indian medical system, emphasis sex to be an integral
part of our daily life (dinacharya) and the satisfaction one derives out of it,
is being spilled over his other areas of life. It points out the factors influencing
the sexual intercourse as below :
- Both the partners should have a strong feeling that they need each other physically,
emotionally and spiritually at the time of intercourse.
- Man is to approach his woman with calm, cool, collected disposition and in an unfrustrated
manner, so that her mood too is set up and a pleasant atmosphere for an effective
lovemaking is created.
- Their mental and physical health should be robust in order to have a maximum enjoyment
during intercourse.
- Take care that the atmosphere is beautiful, clean, and peaceful which seduces the
sense organs. Also bathing before coitus/burning incense sticks/using scents rouses
ones mood.
- Best time suitable for intercourse is midnight or after 2 hours having dinner, as
it considered as the best time for intimacy (kapha time).
- A total involvement and enjoyment in a foreplay before sexual intercourse, by involving
the five senses (touch, smell, see, hear etc.,) increases the intimacy and a prolonged
lovemaking.
- Take care to solve any misunderstanding with your partner, resolve any anger against
one another and try to improve communicating with each other what exactly one enjoys
from other.
- Partners should refrain themselves from intercourse during menses, pregnancy, illness
or after a heavy meal.
- At night, clad in white clothing female partner should put her left leg and husband
should put his right leg first on bed.
Who is healthy human being?
Providing guidelines on ideal daily and seasonal routines, diet, behavior and the
proper use of our senses, Ayurveda reminds us that health is the balanced and dynamic
integration between our environment, body, mind, and spirit.
One may look healthy but due to improper dietary habits and life styles many toxins
accumulate in the body.
Why toxins accumulate in our body?

Purification of body to eliminate toxins for me and my hubby…
The first step towards a successful conception is purification of the body. Pancha
Karma therapy is the best for the purification of the body. It is extremely scientific
and each of its steps and procedures have important roles to play in the process
of purifying.
To remove all kinds of imbalances in the sperm and ova, therapies such as snehan,
svedan, vaman, virechan, bastis and other specially prepared uttar-bastis are highly
recommended.
The idea behind Pancha Karma before conception is to purify the seeds of both man
and woman, when the body is cleaned like this, the ability to absorb nutrients is
multiplied several folds. Consequently, the quality and strength of the sperm and
ova are greatly improved. After a well done Pancha Karma you will find that your
complexion has improved and senses function more efficiently. The mind is refreshed
and one becomes more optimistic. Besides, couples will also find an increase in
attraction towards one another.
The results of the Pancha Karma therapies will go a long way. They facilitate conception
and implantation of the embryo, and have continued benefits to ensure a smooth pregnancy
and good health for a child to be born.
